1. Why do we raise our hands?

2. Why do we clap our hands?

“To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” Psalms 47:1

3. Why do we say “amen” to something spoken?

We are signifying our strong agreement with what was said, normally related to the quoting of Scripture, or additional clarification and enlightenment of the Scripture.  The following psalm is a beautiful example:

“Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalms 106:48
